New Village/Town Engineer Appointed

After months of hard work and consideration between the Village Board (VB) and Town Board, Niles Pierson has been appointed the new Village/Town Engineer.

In Good News, the Sales Tax Distribution of $97,555.50 was received.

The Village Planner Report consisted of proposed changes to the 2012 Zoning Code. The Village Planning Board has been asked to recommend if this version meets the intent of the amendments they recommended to the VB in 2016. The VB has requested the Village Planning Board go ahead and review.

In the Engineer’s Report regarding the Lagoon Sludge Removal Project, there is the recommendation to bid out the project in early 2018 to receive competitive pricing. The project/plan schematic will be presented to the VB by the end of November 2017.  Stream monitoring/sampling will take place again in November and December as a requirement of a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit. $10,000 was approved for the Waste Water Treatment Plant Sludge Removal additional services.

In the Code Enforcement Officer’s Report, there were a handful of permits issued mainly regarding porch reconstruction along with fencing and landscaping.

Spencer Murray spoke about the Fall Fest Wrap Up Meeting, stating that it was a positive experience and we look forward to what comes from it.

The next meeting of the Village Board will be on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Village Hall.
