From bridal showers to rehearsal dinners to the ceremony itself, Ellicottville’s unique venues will certainly make your big day memorable.
With its scenic views, beautiful accommodations, and delicious menu, Holiday Valley has so much to offer couples who are planning their nuptials in Ellicottville. According to Katelyn Mueller, Certified Wedding and Event Planner and Catering Sales Manager for Centerplate at Holiday Valley, more than 60 weddings were hosted at HV in 2017, the most the resort has ever had. So what makes HV such a sought after location? The variety of locations for both the ceremony and the reception allow couples to personalize their big day based on the size, style, and budget they have to work with.
The Champagne Sundeck, located just outside Yodeler Lodge, is a gorgeous outdoor patio offering couples two unique options for an on-site ceremony: in front of the natural flowing waterfall or under the pavilion in front of a stone fireplace. This location is reserved for couples having their reception at the Yodeler Lodge.
The Tamarack Green overlooking the golf course or the Resort Services Deck with the Mardi Gras lift in the background are the onsite ceremony locations reserved for couples having their reception at the Holiday Valley Lodge.
The ceremony space at Tannenbaum Lodge is the smallest venue, seating a maximum of 120 guests for the indoor ceremony. In Mueller’s words, “This location is perfect for an intimate wedding of 50 to 120 guests.”
Finally, a hilltop ceremony is also offered as an option to all couples. Those choosing this option can ride the Mardi Gras or Yodeler chair lift to the top of the hill and be married with a gorgeous view overlooking the valley. The hill-top location can accommodate up to 270 guests for a ceremony.
Following the ceremony, Holiday Valley offers reception space at all three of its beautiful lodges.
The second floor of the Holiday Valley Lodge can accommodate 80-280 guests, Yodeler Lodge can hold 150-230 guests and Tannenbaum Lodge can accommodate 50-150 guests.
Whether you’re planning a buffet or traditional plated meal for your guests, HV’s on-site catering service, Centerplate, will not disappoint. Mueller explained, “Lately, we are seeing a healthy mix of plated menus and the upcoming trend of, what I like to call, a strolling reception. The strolling reception is for the non-traditional bride who envisions a night full of eating, mingling and dancing. HoliMont members and non-members alike can choose to have their ceremony amidst the tranquil hills of the resort inside the chalet lodge, outside the lodge in front of the slopes or on top of the hill via a chairlift ride.
After the ceremony, the couple can work with HoliMont’s staff to create a dream reception inside and outside the beautiful chalet, which can accommodate weddings with up to 350 guests. “We offer full service wedding planning services from decorating to logistics for your special day,” said Dina DiPasquale, owner of Dina’s at the Mont. “We don’t do ‘cookie cutter’ weddings. Every bride and groom’s day is planned around their tastes, budget and style.”
Catering for weddings is also provided by Dina’s, and couples can choose from a diverse menu selection that’s sure to impress. In DiPasquale’s words, “Our approach to food is bringing out the natural flavors of each ingredient, creating a harmonious plate that is not only delicious but nutritious.
