Ellicottville senior center Elliot Bowen made the Class D All-New York State first team for the third consecutive year, the New York State Sportswriters Association announced Monday.
This time, Bowen was joined on the first team by CCAA East II rival Sam Erickson, a senior forward at Franklinville.
Both Bowen and Erickson made the Times Herald’s Big 30 first team and Buffalo News’ All-Western New York third team in recent weeks. The 6-foot-6 Bowen averaged 19.7 points per game, 12.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks and 6-foot-5 Erickson averaged 22.5 points, 11.5 boards and 6.5 assists.
Also for Ellicottville, seniors Griffin Chudy (16.6 ppg) made the seventh team and Austin Grinols was an honorable mention. Chudy was also an All-WNY honorable mention.
The NYSSWA has yet to announce small school girls basketball all-state teams. Franklinville sophomore Danielle Haskell (26.1 points per game) made the All-WNY first team. Her sister, senior Allyson Haskell, made the third team.
Ellicottville junior Linnea Jimerson was an All-WNY honorable mention.
