Locals Get Special Summer Music Fest Pricing May 7-11

The Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce Locals Week ticket pricing! From May 7-11, residents and employees working or living in the 14731 zip code may purchase up to four tickets for each concert for $20 each at the chamber office, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The opening concert on Friday, June 29 will feature Uprooted, with special guests Funktional Flow. It was 29 years ago that Michael Glabicki left college to start a band. At that time, he had no idea what he was going to do. He spent two years creating his vision and learning the craft of songwriting. That vision soon became Rusted Root, the multiplatinum band out of Pittsburgh, and Michael became one of the world’s most unique voices.

In many ways, he is starting this process again by creating an entirely new sound landscape. This process has led to Glabicki’s new solo project, Uprooted. This band is bringing back parts of Rusted Root of old, including more percussion and more female vocals, as well as bringing it into a new place with new material. He will carry on playing Rusted Root’s entire catalog of music on tour with re-inspired versions, as well as continuing to bring new and exciting music under the new name of Uprooted.

Members from the most recent touring band for Rusted Root (Dirk Miller- electric guitar, Zil Fessler- drums, Bobby Schneck Jr.-bass) as well as a new female singer, Daisie Ghost Flower, will be joining as the backing band on this new adventure.

Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx will take the stage Saturday night, June 30, celebrating the “40th Anniversary Grand Illusion Album Tour” with special guests Legends of Summer. DeYoung is a founding member of Styx and the lead singer and writer on seven of the band’s eight top 10 hits. His live concert with his six piece band showcases all the Styx Greatest Hits spanning the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s. The set includes all eight top 10 hits including “Lady,” “Babe,” “Come Sail Way,” “Too Much Time on My Hands,” “Mr. Roboto” plus the classic rock anthems “Renegede,” “Blue Color Man,” “Suite Madame Blue,” “Rockin’ the Paradise” and more.

DeYoung is a legendary singer, songwriter, keyboardist, composer and record producer with a career spanning 40 years. His voice is one of the most recognizable in the music world today and continues to inspire new generations of fans.

On Sunday, July 1, the Buffalo Philharmonic will be back for their 25th engagement at the Summer Music Festival. The show “Vinyl Fever” will feature songs from the Beatles, Billy Joel, Abba, The Beach Boys, Motown and more. The evening will conclude with everyone’s favorite 1812 Overture and Stars and Stripes forever to an incredible fireworks display. This is an all ages event, so pack up your picnic basket and bring the whole family. As always, 12 and under are free to both concerts.
