ECS Girls Beat Cuba-Rushford For First Win of Season

On Saturday in the consolation final of the Adam Elliott Memorial tournament, Ellicottville earned its first victory of the girls basketball season, beating Cuba-Rushford 55-42.

The Eagles (1-2) used a game-high 25 points from senior Linnea Jimerson to get past the Rebels.

Kate Howe scored 22 for Cuba-Rushford (0-3).

Both Jimerson and Howe received spots on the all-tournament team.

Portville 56, Ellicottville 30

PORTVILLE — Bryn Milne and Shayla Wilhelm both had double-doubles to power host Portville to a season-opening and first-round tournament triumph Nov. 30.

Milne had 10 points and pulled down 19 rebounds and Shayla Wilhelm had 11 points and 12 boards for the Panthers.

Karly Welty totaled 10 points, six assists and five steals for Portville, which used a 14-2 second quarter to take control.

Evelyn Nuzzo had nine points for Ellicottville.
