Tapestry tops ECS boys; girls edge Clymer

ECS TAPESTRY 1

Dorian Plummer led Tapestry (6-2) with 22 points and Shane Cerone added 15 and Kaleb Thompson scored 11 Friday as the Buffalo-based charter school rolled to a boys basketball victory over Ellicottville.

Tapestry, a Section 6 Class C champion last season, won 67-24. Leif Jimerson scored seven points to lead Ellicottville (3-4).

The Eagles trailed by six after the first quarter, 15-9, but Tapestry built a 19-point lead by halftime and 25 points after three quarters.

CLYMER — Linnea Jimerson racked up 16 points, 10 rebounds and four steals as Ellicottville avenged a season-opening 40-28 loss Wednesday.

Also for the Eagles, Makenna Smith tallied 10 points and five steals, and Sierra Maybee grabbed six boards.

For Clymer (2-6), Hannah King had 11 points and five steals. Arden Hepler pulled down seven rebounds.

The Eagles lost to Clymer by nearly the same score, 40-28, on opening night Nov. 27. Now at 3-4 with back-to-back victories, Ellicottville plays Franklinville on Thursday, Jan. 3, to open CCAA East II division play.
