U14 Holiday Valley, HoliMont athletes dominate weekend races

By Caitlin Croft

Youth Ski Racing continued last weekend with the U14 Excelsior Cup opening series. This consisted of two Giant Slaloms where athletes from across Western and Central New York gathered to compete.

Mother Nature couldn’t have been kinder to Truxton and Labrador Mountain. It was ideal bluebird skies and cold crisp temperatures in the teens.

This allows for the best possible surfaces in a ski race and also allows course setters to get more creative without worry of a track being broken down because they throw in a trick turn or two.

HoliMont and Holiday Valley athletes stacked up well against athletes in Central New York.
