May might be the month for Mother’s Day, but there are plenty of opportunities coming this summer for women of all lifestyles to reconnect, rejuvenate and relax in the Enchanted Mountains.
Come this June, there are three weekends of women-centric activities planned that shouldn’t be missed.
Girls Getaway Weekend, May 31 — June 2
This first weekend in June, take part in the third annual Ellicottville Girls Getaway Weekend.
Head out to the village for a welcome reception on Friday night, May 31, at the EllicottVillas and meet up with some other ladies looking for that getaway weekend as well. Enjoy amazing hors d’oeuvres and wine tastings.
Spend Saturday, June 1 in activities like pound class, jewelry making, sushi making, a bit of wine pairings and even fashion show. An outstanding brunch, cocktail party and amazing shopping specials will all be included in your registration price.
Reserve your spot today by registering at ellicottvilleny.com. Pre-registration is required. No registration will be taken the day of the event.
Women in the Outdoors, June 8
On Saturday, June 8, experience the great outdoors with Women in the Outdoors, presented by Springville Strutters Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
These events are held across the country using experts and trained professional to teach outdoor skills to women and girls over 12 years of age in a non-competitive environment.
This will be the 20th year the event has been held, and this year’s courses include many wonderful offerings.
This is a great opportunity to learn something new with friends and family and is geared towards women and girls 12 and older.
More information will be coming soon. In the meantime, check out their Facebook page by searching “Springville Strutters.”
Women’s Day Retreat, Aug. 3
If you attended last year’s inaugural event, you’re very likely like the organizers: anxiously awaiting this year’s return of Women’s Day Retreat on Aug. 3. This second annual event is organized by Jessica Raymond, owner of rSpace yoga studio in Colden and held at the Pioneer Camp and Retreat Center, located at 9324 Lake Shore Road in Angola.
Women’s Day Retreat was originally created to produce a place where women of all ages could come together to share, restore, reflect and grow. But what they didn’t see coming was all of the healing, connections and empowerment that the day provided.
With over 12 different styled movement classes — ranging from SUP Yoga to POUND to African Dancing — and 15 holistic healers, discussion groups, local vendors and more, the day was packed with excitement.
In addition to these great features, organizers have added more for this year, including a Friday Night Sleepover, ropes course and rock wall, guest speakers, Mala bead making, mediations and more.
More details will be coming in the new few weeks. Pre-sale tickets will be available May 1.
