Nannen Arboretum seeking volunteers for cleanup

The Nannen Arboretum Society is seeking volunteers to help clean up its grounds following the months of snow and wind.

Clean up days have been scheduled for Thursday, May 9; Saturday, May 18; and Monday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. In case of rain or snow, the cleanup days will be rescheduled.

Volunteers are asked to dress appropriately for the weather and bring their favorite pruning tool if possible.

In addition, the Nannen Arboretum Society and volunteers have regular work days every Monday from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

The arboretum, located at 28 Parkside Drive, Ellicottville, is a sanctuary for hundreds of trees, shrubs, perennial flowers, herbs and nature walks.

An open house and volunteer recruitment day is scheduled for April 27 at 11 a.m. at the arboretum.

Those interested in volunteering or those seeking additional information can email info@nannenarboretum.com. Additional information is available at their website nannenarboretum.com or by searching “Nannen Arboretum” on Facebook.
