Jazz & Blues Weekend returns July 26-28

Wander through the village of Ellicottville next weekend and choose from a variety of jazz and blues performance areas ranging from restaurants to bars, nightclubs to the street-side.

The annual Jazz and Blues Weekend in Ellicottville is a boutique experience set for July 26-28.

Ellicottville has the shops and all the facilities you’d expect in an international class resort and the village is self-contained. All of the venues are within an easy walking distance of each other, so after you arrive, leave the car and enjoy the fresh mountain air on foot.

Outstanding accommodations for all budget levels are located in the village or within walking distance.

In the event of rain on Saturday and Sunday, there are alternate locations for the bands playing at the Winery of Ellicottville’s main stage.

On Saturday, July 27, the Cabaret Big Band with Katy Miner will headline on the main stage when the music of Buffalo-born composer Harold Arlen comes to life.

“Blues in the Night,” “Come Rain or Come Shine,” “Over the Rainbow,” “Stormy Weather” and “That Old Black Magic” are just some of the classic songs featured in this orchestrated cabaret.

Then, on Sunday, July 28, Big City Horns will grace the Winery stage with a nine-piece, powerhouse band featuring outstanding vocals, musicianship and choreography.

The band features two lead vocalists: Ben Baia, who has been performing professionally for audiences over the past 25 years, and Bulgarian native Maria Angelova, who has also performed internationally and was a season 5 finalist on “American Idol.”
